Most of the work in line marking happens before any paint goes down. Bays have to be set out square to something, evenly spaced, and sized so cars actually fit with doors opening. A car park marked out by eye ends up with a tapering row and a bay nobody can use, and once it is painted, that is what you have.
We set out from a measured datum, mark it up, and walk it with you before applying anything, so you can see the layout while it can still be changed. Then the markings go on: bays, hatching, disabled bays with their access zones, arrows, keep-clear areas, numbering, and lettering where you need reserved spaces named.
We also apply play markings for school playgrounds, which is a different job again: games courts, tracks, number lines and hopscotch grids, set out to sizes that work for the age group using them. Surface preparation matters for all of it. Paint on a dirty or damp surface fails early, so the area gets swept and has to be dry before we start.

What affects the price
Why we quote per job
There is no useful price per square metre for this, because these change the number more than the material does:
- The number of bays and the complexity of the schedule
- Whether old markings have to be blacked out or removed first
- The paint specification, since a longer-life material costs more up front
- Whether the area can be closed, or has to be done in sections or out of hours
- Play markings, which are priced per design rather than per metre
Where the layout is changing, old lines want blacking out first. Leaving two sets of markings means drivers follow whichever they see and the bays get ignored.
