How we work

Most of the driveways and patios we are asked to replace did not fail because of the blocks or the slabs. They failed because of what was, or was not, underneath. A sub-base tipped in and rolled once instead of compacted in layers. Slabs bedded on five dabs of mortar instead of a full bed. Edges with nothing holding them.

None of that is visible on handover day, which is exactly why it is the easiest place for a quote to be cheaper than the one next to it. So we put the depth and the construction in writing. If a quote you are comparing ours against does not say what is going under the surface, that is the question worth asking.

You deal with the same person from the first visit to the last day. The person who comes out and quotes the job is on site doing it, so nothing gets lost between a sales visit and a crew who were not there for it.

What we will tell you

We would rather talk you out of the wrong job than sell you it. If a patio needs cleaning and re-pointing rather than replacing, we will say so. If a driveway has potholes appearing across the whole surface rather than in one spot, patching it year after year costs more than dressing it once, and we will say that too. If a job is bigger than suits us, we will tell you at the enquiry stage rather than let you down halfway through.
